Finding out boat motor year
Would anyone know how to go about finding what year motor I have? It's a Mercery XR6 150, and it came on my 2002 Tracker Avalanche boat. I was just wondering how I could find out. Thanks in advance!!

Well on my bill of sales invoice the motor serial is listed as OT737599. Does that help any? I don't have the boat in front of me right now.

I have 2 mercury 150 XR6's and both of them have the year manufactured on the motor in the form of a sticker right where the motor mounts on the boat. XR6's were manufacuted between 2000 and 2002 or 2003 not to sure about that. If the sticker was somehow removed I would try googling the serial number and it might tell you what year it was made. I'm assuming you need to know because you have to order a part?
My experience has been that when a boat was built the original motor will generally be the same year.

Thank god no. But you are right, I called my better half, and she looked on the motor, and find out it was a 2003. The reason I was asking was because the title said it had a 115, but now has a 150, so I was wondering what year it was. Thanks again for all your help folks!!
