Talking Powerpro+vibracraw=Happiness

I finally got to go out today, with Denny to a place half hour north of here, it had rained all day n night and the tiles were filling the pond with a ton of dirty water, there was a definate mud line that eventually took over the pond, but I was able to "break the ice" and get my first bass since ice out tuesday. I am guessing the water temp upper 30s...air temp was 60..
Tried the power pro line and loved it, was flipping a zoom vibracraw(wateremelon punkin) into submerged willow trees and this nice little ol 14 incher thumped it, I really like the feel of the powerpro..
Also glad to get the first one out of the way!

Default It was fun

Yeah it was great to get out.I didn't do any good,I was fishing this corner of the pond where a spring was pouring in and there was a mudline at the time I was fishiing it was about 20ft out from the spring.I threw a rat-l-trap,blk spinnerbait, deep diving light green craw crank,Berkley powere hog and a strike king lizard (blk) I tried. It was fun.great to see JB get his first fish.I hope this all made sense,I just woke up

lizards,
thanks for all the recommendations on the line, it shoots out there just right and I def. felt the "thump" even when a winter bass decided to hit!

Nice catch!

I have to wait almost 2 months to catch even the first pike! However, I'm pretty sure that I'll hook one at the first cast.

All these fishing reports w/ pictures of the first fish of the season . . . I gotta' get out. Wish I wasn't here at my desk at work. Wish my weekend wasn't filled with social engagements (celebrating my wife's birthday with my Mom). Wish I was fishing . . .

I'm in the same boat (not literally) with H20 in that I can't fish for any game fish until May 6th unless it's a river system here in WI. Can only panfish.

HOWEVER, I do have a non-sanctioned Catch and Release 3 acre pond in the back of my apartment complex that is conviently stocked with bass, bluegill, and northern pike. I call it my "lab". That baby just opened up as of last night due to the severe thunderstorms and wind we had last night.
