Default Canyon Lake, The Sequel, 4/19/07

Another day on The Jewel Of The Texas Hill Country.
Reb and I pounded the waters for over nine hours, catching 19 bass on a variety of lures.
Mine came on a War Eagle spinnerbait, Strike King Redeye lipless crank, 4' Ringworms in Red Shad and Gr. Pumpkin, 4" Senko (wacky-rigged.), and a tandem fluke rig.
Reb's fish were caught on his excellent home-assembled spinnerbaits.
I threw the 5/8 oz Jackall jointed swimbait ("Mikey", Golden Shiner, I think.) in some likely-looking water but no takers. Still, I feel this bait has a future in my arsenal.
Typical of Canyon, a lot of non-keepers in the mix, but did manage a few legal bass. The "low end" bass were amazingly small, barely enough to cover a cracker, and I caught a couple of goggle-eyes that had high hopes.
We had a good time, enjoyed the nice weather and the few fish.
I'm going again this morning, (after four hours of ZZZZZZZ) with another regular partner (Colonel George W. USAF Ret.) and hope to beat my total for this report.
I'll be thinking of ya'll as I'm driving dat Pantera to the first spot.

Be safe!

FR

Flyrod failed to mention 2 fish-I got one on a shakey head rigged with a cotton candy Sizmic Shakey Worm and a striper that went about 3 on a 4" Storm wildeye shad swimbait. Dang, them stripers fight hard!

Yep-this is a clear water lake with very little cover other than flooded timber in a few areas and lots of rock. Small plastics account for most of the fish caught there-it is not a big fish lake but is loaded with dinks.
