Default Strike King King Rat and the like?

Anyone else use these things? I really like 'em a lot so far, bass really seem to slam them at the new lake I found! I only wish they where more durable.

So are they're any other king rat alternatives out there? Hollow bodied one's maybe? The BPS Floating mouse looks pretty good, how are the hook ups?

Any and all answers are appreciated!

I'd just use a Spro Bronzeye Frog.

I love that rat. It casts a mile and if they want it look out. You are right they don't last long. Check wally world, sometimes they discount them. I got about 10 of them for a buck and a half. Try some soft plastic glue. Maybe that would work. Tried one other mouse. Forget the brand. Didn't like it. It was to light. Colors that work for me are white and yellow.

Thanks guys, I'll make sure to get some GOOD glue this time, the other I got (venom brand I believe), stuff sucked.

And biggins, I've used them plenty times, lost most of them to gators, caught more of them than bass - didn't like it to much - I liked the river2sea bully wa frog alot though.

BPS floating mouse color 22 ,bought it at wally world several years ago then it was referred to as Garfield, and it does look more like him than any mouse.
For durability try a frog, for 8 or under one can have a decent one that tosses a long ways and holds up.Bobbies perfect or pro tournament frog, paddle tail scum frog, bully wa 55,65,75,85,and spro ,the king spro walks easy tosses a very long ways as its a 1 oz bait,my own bps is fairly tuff bought it 5 years ago still floats and catches fish but for me not quite as good as a frog.

There are certain days on the lake I fish where they just don't want a frog, but they will pound a "phat rat" (which looks a lot like the BPS Floating Mouse). We have good luck using white, gray or yellow. I have used the King Rat also, but it is much less durable (for me anyway) than the phat rat. The only issue I have with both is that my hook-up ratio is lower than I'd like. Typically, I have much better luck with hook-ups using a frog, so I fish that more often than my rats.

Love the Sizmic Toad, especially the floating version. Not quite the long distance caster like Strike King, but who is going to cast more than 40feet or so in that kind of cover anyway?
