Default Breaking in buzzbaits.

We all know that buzzbaits out of the package don't have near as good of a sound as they do when they have been used a lot and get broke in to the point of almost being worn out, I have a few favorites that catch me tons of fish and they are both 6 or 7 years old and I protect them with my life. So speeding up the process so that you don't have to use a buzzbait all along until it gets that good ol' broken in sound is something that a lot of guys have been doing for a while now. The most popular way of doing this that I know of is tying the buzzbait to the seat of your boat while you are going to the lake, when you get there your buzzbait will be broken in from the blade spinning all the way there. However I have a bunch of buzzbaits that need to be broken in and I never have my seats in the boat, even if I did I dont' know how I could tie that many buzzbaits to the seat anyways. So here is what I came up with, I can now break in 5 buzzbaits at a time.

A couple box fans, some aligator clamps and a work bench and you are in business. My garage doors are open and my neighbors are looking at me like I am nuts but who cares right lol.

Nice idea Cory!

My favorite way (and quick) is to soak the blade and aluminum stopper in Bleach for about a day. It gives it a great sound afterward (squeaky the way I like them).

I think it was Woody who was telling me a great way to do it was attach them to your tow vehicle on the way to the lake. Now it would have to be extra secure, because even a worn in buzzbait isn't any good to you lying on the side of the road lost, but it sounded like a great idea.

This simulates the same thing without the risk of donating a bait to the road ditch. Plus I can leave these things spinning in the wind a lot longer this way than if I were to do the tow vehicle method. I have a tourney in the morning so by the time I take them off at the last minute they will have been on there for around 14 hours.

Well they were on there for around 12 hours and when I took them off they were crazy squeeky, just the way I like them. I think I will be using this idea in the future for sure.

Been doing that for years-both ideas. I use my vice on my workbench and a fan for home work, and use a zip tie to attach it to the truck antenna. Tried several ways but the zip ties work the best. Just be sure to take some side cutters with you to cut them loose.

End of last year I got a couple of the newer Booyah Pip-Squeak Buzzbaits. I have to say, these things have a nice sound, and I'll be getting a couple more soon.

That said, the fan is a great idea for all the other buzzbaits I've got. I'll definitely be trying that.
