Default Weedless Jitterbug

I was wondering if anyone had ever used the weedless Jitterbug and if so, how was your hookup ratio. The Jitterbug I'm refering to has a double hook extending from the rear of the bait, which is upturned away from the water thus making it more weedless than the standard version. And while I am posting this, does anyone knoe if todays Jitterbugs are still made of wood? Thought I'd ask before taking a knife to one of mine!

Keith, I've never used the weedless one. Also, I don't think they are wooden any more.

Jitterbugs are no longer made of wood. I believe they may still make the weedless jitterbugs. You can remove the belly hook & clip off one hook off the rear hook if you cannot find the weedless. BassProShops has a lure which looks & feels remarkably like the old jitterbug. I will try to find it.

Nope they are no longer a wood jitterbug.. the weedless one is a good bait that works when a frog gets snubbed. hook up rate requires the old 1-2-3-hook set ideals..

I use that on rubber frogs too.

I have used them with mild success over floaded grass. Lots of hits but only 25% hookup. Went to a weedless ghost spook and got it to 50%. But ever since those horny toads came out I have never looked back.
