Default jig head question

I'm looking for the best size and type jig heads for fishing grubs like the Zoom Fat Alberts. What size and type jig heads do you guys use?

Thanks DJ

I use a football head jig for fishing rocks.
A brush head for everything else.
As far as weight it depends on depth and what rate of fall I want.

Here on Table Rock, Darter heads are very popular with the grub fishing guru's. There are a lot of guys out here who are just flat out studs with grubs and I can't think of any of them who prefer any other style besides a Darter head. Size depends a lot of your conditions but 3/16 is real popular as is 3/8.

I've had good results fishing grubs on simple ball type jig heads such as the Bite Me Shakey Head....fished slow bouncing and twitching on the bottom they can be deadly at times. I generally use 1/8 or 3/16 with spinning tackle.

If I'm fishing grubs I'll swim it with a darter head. Usually 1/4 oz.

I love fishing Jig 'n Grubs too! I just rig them on a plain old 1/8oz lead head round jig, however for larger grubs and/or deeper water you may want to go to a 1/4oz or 3/8oz jig head.

I use cheaper jig-heads, but I'd look for the Gamakatsu Round Jig Head, I bet they're sticky sharp!

Has nothing to do with your question, but look for Mann's Hardnose Curly-Tailed Grubs, these baits are great. The ones I use are only 2-inches long (they come in sizes up to about 5-inches though) but are very "round". Pretty much a single-tail Fat Albert.
