Default How much is it worth?

Hey guys. I stopped the other day and asked about a boat that i had been seeing in this guys yard. He didnt have a for sell sign on it but he was willing to get rid of it. It is i believe a 97 nitro. I think it is 17 foot long with dual console. The motor is either a 115 or a 150 Force (It says "Tracker" across the motor). He called me a little while ago and said that we would take it out and make sure everything is working because it has been sitting since last summer. He said he would ask no more thatn 4000 if everything checked out. Is this a good, bad, or just decent price?

Just off the top of my head I don't think it sounds too bad. Not something I'd jump at, but it doesnt raise my eyebrows as being bad. Never hurts to try and talk someone down though. The shape its in probably would matter a lot to me, thats an 11 year old boat - it could have been run hard or hardly at all in those 11 years. I would think it has a 115. Would be suprised if a 17 foot nitro would be rated for a 150.

If you can get a model number off the outboard I or someone else could probably look up the HP. Just mullin it around in my head, I really would try and talk him down to 3.

I have the same boat 170 Rick Clunn w/115 Merc/Tracker Dual console and I wouldn't sell mine for a penny less than 5000.00 not that I want to sell it but just to give you a idea. My boat is in top notch shape also. great on gas too.
