Would you buy homemade Spinnerbaits?
I have the opportunity to make my own custom spinnerbaits, and I was wondering if anyone would be intrested in inexpensive but deadly spinnerbaits. I would make them in numerous colors, blade combos, and sizes. The prototypes I have tried out this spawn have put together huge stringers of fish, and if I can fish with them anyone can.

No.... I can make my own, or buy them somewhere else. It's not really like cranks or plastics, wire and blades is just wire and blades. YOu might use high quality material, but I can buy 'em at BPS with high quality material.

I'd buy anything that was properly presented, I can't get enough bassin toys. When you get the time, post some pics of your work, I'm sure you will get some postive feedback if they are priced right.

I usually use H&H or beetlespins for bass fishing. My husband just started making some awesome crappie jigs and he has made a couple of bass jigs. You might be able to sell them on ebay or something.

There are a lot of custom made spinnerbaits out there. Unless you have something really special or new then you'll have a lot of competition. Start making some for yourself and friends. If they are quality baits at good prices the people will come to you for your baits.
One guy I fish with who used to guide on the Potomac river swears by the beetle spins. He usually catches a couple fish each year on the baits. It used to be a go to bait when he guided beginners. Toss it out, let it sink, and reel it back. Simple. |

One of my sponsors is a homemade spinnerbait company. HeavyCover.com, I fish a spinnerbait all year long, and I have not found a bait that suits my needs better then theirs. So yes I would buy a homemade spinnerbait, reason is I can get exactually what I want. Now that company has grown, but is still made one at a time by the owner, and you can chose from over 300,000 different combinations.

What are beetlespins, and where do you get them?
Oh and if they look good, I might buy the spinnerbaits.

The lure making market seems to be tough to enter right now. So many people want to do something fishing related for a career.
