Fishfinder question.
1st question. I've got my eye on the Hummingbird 570DI fishfinder and would like to know exactly what is Switchfire? I keep seeing the "Switchfire" term in Hummingbird adds but have no idea what it is.
2nd question. How would you compare the Hummingbird 570DI to the Lowrance 5x DSI? In the past when messing around with the fishfinders on display I usually found the Lowrance units more complicated to understand and use. It seemed like they always had far more features and steps than I wanted or needed. Havn't looked at the newer Lowrances lately though.

Ok go back to the hummingbird electronics store under the unit where it says switchfire click on it.Basicly its a multi function mode for different color and screens like as in different modes, changes how the viewer sees the screen.
The online pics show the differences. |

Switchfire is a filter of sorts, you can choose between seeing everything that the sonar is seeing, or set it in a filtered mode where only the stronger returns are displayed.
