My new favorite spawn bait
I usually don't throw on or near the beds, but have done it a few times this spring. I have found that a blue gill colored spinner bait has been great for me when I am limited to the number of rods (on shore).
It has given me the versatility to work the deeper water and focus on the pre and post spawn fish, but I can also treat it like a jig on the beds. In a lot of our pressured lakes, white baits have not been getting hit at all. I think it is because of how many times the bedding fish have been caught. I figured I would pass it on.
