Abu Garcia Vendetta
After all the searching I did in this forum, is it ok to say that the general consensus about these rods is good as far as budget rods are concerned?
I'm just looking to get another flippin rod and Academy has a 7'6, H-F rod for 79 bucks. I almost pulled the trigger last night but wanted some feedback first. |

I've heard nothing but good about this rod in the forums. I purchased the 7'3" H/XF recently for my froggin rod. Havn't had a chance to use it yet, but really looking foreward to it. Your no doubt going to get thumbs ups from most of the guys here along with some other suggestions. But if you are interrested in the rod, I'd say it's a darn good rod for the money!

I've been looking everywhere and I can't find it for lower than 79 bucks new out the door.
I'd like to find a deal on one but I don't think I'm going to find much less than 79 bucks. So I may just pull the trig tomorrow and get it. I wonder how the guides handle braid. |

I don't think I've read anything negative about these rods. Seems everyone has been happy with them. Looking forward to adding a few to my set ups.

They up graded the guides this year to SiC's. Amazing for 80 bucks... They ought to handle braid great.
I know biggina has got a 7'6" vendetta, maybe he'll chime in.

I actually bought two vendettas!
I got such a smoking deal I had to get a 7'3 M-H just for a jig rod in addition to the heavy rod. |

I've never fished with a Vendetta but the positive reviews of the rods far out-weigh the negative ones. I hope you like them!

I have two now and had three at one time, I had to return one because the rod broke loose in the reel seat. Other than that they have been solid rods. I also have three of the Veritas, while they are lighter and slightly more sensitive, I think the build quality may have actually been better on the Vendetta. Hard to find a rod with the same quality of components as the Vendetta for 79 dollars.

Well its good to know all the positives coming in about the vendetta. I'm very lucky to have a friend who works at Academy.
For some reason he's always buying tackle yet he's not into fishing...... |

I have one and used the mess out of it last year with no problems. The ratings seem to be a little off,but good rod for the cash.

Best rod on the market for under $150 (maybe higher) IMO. Did a LOT of searching and testing, I now own 6 of them. sensitive, great components, light n tough. Their flippin stick is nice, almost got one but a buddy sold me one of his carrot stix. Don't know if I would even consider item a budget rod. Just good rods at a good price (i think the 8 guides may keep the cost down). I have fished mine hard (tx fishing) for 2 seasons now with no issues and the reduced weight makes my shoulder happy.1 observation, the front reel seat is aluminum, tends to wear on the fingers a bit after a long day. Couple wraps of tennis tape fixes that. They balance well with most reels also ( revo's are around 8.8 oz I think, most baitcasters are around that also) I have extremes and clunn's on mine. Very happy with these rods.
I usually also have to go through a bunch of rods to find straight blanks (regardless of mfr) , haven't had that problem with these. Every one I have picked up has been straight.79$ is about the best buy on these, only seen them once for $69, and I bought the last 2
