MuskY!
Denny caught a really nice musky at Caesars Creek Lake today while we were bass fishing, man what a strong fish.
We were about 1/2 way back a huge cove in some deepwater, and the muskee hit his spinnerbait. After a nice fight the toothy critter turned and broke off his mono, we expected it would...it was only about 2 feet long, only half grown up huh Last edited by JB; 04-14-06 at 07:07 PM. |

WTG Denny, You ever figure 8 your spinnerbait by the boat when they safely escort it back to the boat for you so no bass will hit it ? alot of times here they will hit it right at the boat. The Lake I grew up on had a good musky caught last year on it, Its not noted to be a musky lake.I think it weighed 52 lbs. I also think the company who sells me jigs released it in my home lake, because I lose dozens every year to the toothy critters.P N J

I've been to Caesar's Creek many times. I never realized there were muskies in there. Caesar's Creek is going to be one of my new stomping grounds in about a month. I don't have a boat, so I'll probably spend most of my time elsewhere. Looks like I'll need to hit the weights if I want to be able to reel in one of those 50+lbers.

Now that the wife is gone, I have no ties to NC. Yeah, I hate snow, but my family is in the Cincinnati area. I'll be moving to Mason if you know where that is JB. I'll surely miss the mild winters and big bass.

Back in the late 1980's when I went to Paramount's Kings Island, which was just called Kings Island back then, I remember having fun riding the different rides at Hanna-Barbera Land, the Kings Island, OH-located theme park's children's play area. Back then, they had a ride called "Smurfs' Enchanted Voyage". It was one of the most happiest memories I have ever experienced and in my life (even though the mechanical Gargamel and Azreal scared me and my sister!) This was part of the excitement and success that Hanna-Barbera had generated over the course of their 20th century tenure in Saturday Morning. "Smurfs' Enchanted Voyage" operated it's last season at Paramount's Kings Island in 1991-1992. Hanna-Barbera will no longer be operating at Paramount's Kings Island starting in the 2006 season to make way for "Nickelodeon Universe", however, Scooby-Doo will still be in the park with "Scooby-Doo's Haunted Castle" ride (which is operating in the same building that once housed "Smurfs' Enchanted Voyage") and they will still sell Scooby-Doo merchandise.

Oh yea they are going ape!
A key to crappie bite close to peak is note the neighborhood flowering crabtrees, when the air temp for them to bloom , the water temp for crappies is perfect for them to be feeding near thier spawn time |

Ah yes. The smurf ride. I remember it so well. I have only been once since Paramount took over. It's just not the same.
JB, I'll have to remember the crabtree trick next year. They've been biting for awhile here in central NC. I've caught a few in the 1.5 to 2 lb range while bass fishing. |
