Default Troll Perfect

Anyone tried the product Troll Perfect? I see many of the pros are using it but have not talked to anyone first hand that has used it. It looks like a great product from the website, trollperfect.com but I'd like to hear some feedback before purchasing one. Thanks Kahuna

I watched the youtube vid. We've all experienced torque steer but I don't put my TM on high then take my foot off the pedal. Might be a great gadget...I'm just sayin...........

Maybe good for wallys but personally I don't know a single bass fisherman that trolls.
My understanding is that rules state you can't troll for bass during competitions yet the site has Swindle on it. Maybe I need to do a little more homework.

Joedog, it's used on the trolling motor. Basically if you have it on high you get a lot of torque in your motor. This basically goes over the knuckle on the shaft of the TM and can be adjusted to be free or tight. On the bigger water here in MI and other states if you are on a rock pile in 4’ers you need the TM on high to stay in one place. Not intended to be used for "trolling". I know a couple of guys on the Elites use them. I've met them before as I think they are a MI company.

But he seems like a troll and not going to be well liked on here.....

looks like just a couple of bushings or bearings on either end of a rubber hose held on with 2 hose clamps.

I have one. Doc gave it to me after he sold his boat. I haven't installed it, so I don't know how much it dampens the torque, yet. I have a 101# Minn Kota T/m and it does produce a lot of torque on high, especially when you first kick it on. I'll give it a try next season. 'Bama, I believe it will work on either, but I'm using it on a bow mount. I would think the torque would be more easily managed on a hand control stern mount T/m without this device as it's designed to reduce the torque related steering difficulties with the cable steering of the foot pedal bow mounted models.

I have one and had it on all last season on my bow mount 70#. It's just a simple plastic piece with hose clamps on the ends. You tighten one side down then adjust the tension on the other side to your liking. Where it really helped on mine is keeping it going in same direction. Mine wants to wander as I go unless I am constantly keeping pressure on it and this has helped a lot. It's not magic, just a clever little thing that helps out.
