Default Rods

I used my dads fishing set up today , and I like it alot. Its a Pinnacle PC10 Baitcaster with a Pinnacle TI3 Rod , it was more sensitive than what I use , I want something more sensitive , lets hear what you all think of any brands for a rod...He also used Flourocarbon line , if that makes any differance...

I really like all star rods. Fenwicks are also among my favorites. The line all depends on you. Some guys love flourocarbon and others hate it.

a cheap graphite rod with braid will be more sensative than the best rod with any other line.i use allstar im10x rods and bass pro johhny morris signature series with sufix braid.this lets you feel eveything.

My Fenwick HMX is my favorite so far. I just picked up a Team All Star Big Boy, but I have not used it yet. They are for very different applictions so I don't think I will be able to compare.
I had that same Pinnacle reel and the line quide thing that goes back and forth got screwed up, the part that rides in the groove wore out. Make sure to keep it lubed I guess.

mostly for many reasons, sensitivity, strenght in certain areas, and flexibity in the tips, plus the shape and make of the handle, eyelets, along with the type blank is what most anglers look for, with length and lure rating....most guys will end up having several 100 dollar rods.

Allright , I am going to buy a new rod for around 150.00 , I am open to suggestions , I want sensitivity for worms , but also would like to use it with cranks , and sometimes spinnerbaits. I want a trigger type handle with the open area in the back for your finger to touch the bare rod. Why dont these major manufactures list how sensitive the rods are ? I can tie a line to an oak tree branch and say its sensitive ,I want a 6'6" medium action ? or Medium Heavy ? Help me out , I dont care about what brand name it is , I want proof to their sensitivity , numbers or something...

well, most of the time rod manufacturers rate their rods in something they call modulus. normally ,the higher the modulus, the more senstive, but also more brittle. so to get high end sensitivity, you must sacrifice strength. im6 graphite is usaully about 36 million modulus. i use bass pro shops extreme rods, which are on sale now,and they have 60 million modulus. here's baas pros top end rod
http://www.basspro.com/servlet/catal...rTarget=browse
normally they are $150,but they are on sale for $120. also ,check out st. croix avids, all star platinums, falcon caras, shimano crucials, team daiwa light and tough series, and fenwicks. look around and you can get a quality rod for under $130. or you could get the bass pro shops extreme rods, and they are on sale for $70,so you could get 2 rods instead of one. hope i helped!

Excellant , thank you for your help , I have been looking at bass pro shops rods , mostly the 85 million modulus johnny morris rod. I just want some info. I mean most of the big name brands dont list the modulus count , so how do you know ? buy it , then your not happy , and its too late ?

well, bass pro has a 30 day money back guarentee,so if you dont like it,they give you your money back. rods like the st. croix, have a high modulus blank system that they call sc. the higher the numeral after sc,the more modulus. the avids are sc3 i think. the all star platinums are very high modulus, but i dont think that it says the exact modulus. the shimano and team daiw both use the im system, the crucials are im9 and daiwas are im6. also, look for really good fuji guides, like at least the aluminum oxide guides but the hardloy or alconite guides are better. titanium guides is pretty good. i would get the jonhy morris rods right now. you can get the combo, but bass pro does have their reels on sale,so check those out too. hope i helped!

I love my Falcon, and I will be able to tell you how strong it is, after this weekend. Will be checking out airrus, bps, st croix, all star, and fenwick for my next top-quality stick. The G-loomis Bronzebacks look aweful sweet, wish I could lay down that kind of money for a fishin' stick!

i have a johhny morris signature series 6-6 mh.it's a beautifull rod.it's as sensitive as they get.get a m-h because it's a soft m-h almost like a medium.the 7 footer is a little stiffer than the 6-6.you can't go wrong with the johhny morris.
