Default Rocky Top brings in some pigs

Well, since I don't get to fish anymore whawhawha, I figured I could show some pictures from a buddy that caught some nice ones on "Rocky Top" the TN Vols themed rod I built last year.

That last photo about made my heart sink. It is an awesome picture none the less, but since I started building I have read countless hours. And this could be considered a form of high sticking. The bend is close to his hand wrapped on the rod. And we know how that adrenaline gets to pumping. If you grip the rod too tight into the bend, it can eventually lead to a failure following a snap, crackle and pop. Just some FYI.
But I hope you enjoy the pictures. At least I know one of my rods held up to the test hahaha. The trip he had that day had a 7, 6, 5 and (4) 3s. All on Rocky Top as he has named her.

nice...i never understand why you see the pros grab their rods like that up way higher than that to get a fish in the boat. ive never had a problem getting one in with my hand where its supposed to be,on the reel.

lol, I know that.

The rod in the bottom of the bottom pic. The one on the deck of his boat with the rainbow grips on the reel.

Awesome bubba! Great shots and the rod looks good in action.

I was wondered about that high sticking though too...

I tried to explain to him the ending results and he told me he has always done it. I guess his cup of luck runneth over. But at least I have pics if he comes to me with a 2 piece hahahaha. All I can say is I can put a ferrule in it for a small fee hahahaha.

Or build him a new one for a slightly larger fee!

I already told him if he wanted another like it, there would be an additional 50 involved. I think I logged about 20 hrs in that rod. It had to be double wrapped due to the rod color bleeding through so bad on the white thread. I didn't think he would be please with Georgia peach colors.
