Default Is this place private?

I've introduced myself here before, so I'm not new. In fact, I check in here everyday. I posted a thread titled "What combo to buy?", and there hasn't been a single response to it. I thought you guys were here to share and help each other.

Is the sharing and helping only amoung a few "regulars", and newcomers are not welcome? I thought I followed proper etiquette the first time I visited by introducing myself. If that wasn't it, could you please give me the "secret password" or "handshake", so I could join in too? Thanks!

No handshake, no password. From past experience most unregistered guests are hear to cause hate and discontent and stir up crap. A lot of the members here stopped replying to unregistered people because of this. Like reb said, join, it's free. Also read on there are a few recent threads concerning your exact question.

No wonder I didn't get a reply. I "thought" I had registered. My BIG mISTAKE. Thanks for not blasting me! I'm registered under GOV, and I live in SC. You guys seem tyo be a greta bunch. Sorry if I sounded like I was a troll. I'm just trying to learn a little bit more. Bass fishing down here in the Lowcountry is tough. We don't have much freshwater. Mostly salt, as you can figure out.

Usually we conduct a "secret initation" to newbies, but seeing how this is the holidays we offer you the forum .......no holds barred....
to bad for the next guy tho.........rofl
He'll have to endure the classic "wrap a snake around your waist and dance" routine, then try

Dang it Rebbasser, I think it would be cheaper if there were a fee of some sort for a restaining order against the bait monkey. Gov, Welcome, exact;y what were you looking for in a combo, you must have had an idea. I don't know squat about spinning gear except, buy a larger size spool like a 2500 or a 4000 model. keep the line 1/8 th of a inch down from completely filling the spool and a front drag system works alot better than a rear drag system. Now baitcasters are something I really like to mess with so if you have a baitcaster in mind I can give you the good and bads of the reel , but you will have to choose what you want and how much you are looking to spend. I hope this helps, JB Where can I order a chunk of those snakes to have a new pair of boots made ?Maybe a snake skin rod carrier , they look long enough. P N J

Many fishing boards have a very specific and ritualized process for initiating new members, but we at bassfishin.com are generally more laid back.

Repeat after me; I, state your name, do hereby pledge allegiance to the frat......

I'm looking for a baitcaster reel. I already have spinning reels. I've never used one before, so I want to try the baitcaster for a different feel. I have about $100 to spend on the combo.

Reb,
I wondered that too..
I was going through www.obsessedwithwrestling.com
and going through profiles when I saw "the animal'
remember his green tongue?
I used to go to Daytons Hara Arena and about all the wrestling shows of all brands used to come and perform. I remember watching George Steele and Hulk Hogan behind the curtain talking intelligently and eating a fruit buffet. When it was time for the animal to come out and wrestle, he went into his 'tard act and yelling "HIM" rofl

Reb, animal house is pretty much standard viewing if you make it to college. If some of the younger folks havent seen it, they will. I don't remember most of the wrestlers yall are talking about. I didn't start watching wrestling till I guess that year Sid Justice came out. Justice must be done.

Default JackL

I guess none of you remember Lou Thez or Bulldog Bob Brown..........Maybe I am having flashbacks to the Roman Collisium and the gladiators.......I seem to remember something about lions, but then I was so young at the time!!!

Default JackL remembers Lions ???

Kansas Jack-

Do you remember the name of the guy who played the lion in the film. I believe his first name was Claude (clawed).

Its me, senior. I'm back and only have to see my probation officer on Wednesdays. How could I have known she was underage ?? Now they won't allow me to even surf those internet sites, so I've fallen back to my second obsession, bass fishing.

Felice ano nuevo a usted y su familia - Senior

p.s. couldn't use "culprits only" for some site reason
