Default Ponds and Cranks

I have fish a lot of ponds. While I enjoy fishing these, I find that they can be restrictive when it comes to baits and presentations. One pond in particular is only 8-10 foot deep and the weeds come very close to the top of the water.
Last week, I picked up one of the Rapala DT Fat with a diving depth of 1 foot. Before throwing this, I considered a 3 foot diver to be the most shallow crank that I would throw.

It can be swam slowly to be a wake bait, or faster to dive. The only thing I did not like about it is the limitations in colors. (only 4 so far)

So that question becomes, who else make very shallow diving cranks? Which ones do you prefer?

Mann's 1-minus cranks are pretty good for shallow running. I believe they also have a surface crankbait called a Waker. The 1-minus has a very wide wobble and is available in tons of colors. I like the elite version as the paint is better and I like the red treble hooks. I've had a lot of success in the aurora blue color here in Ohio, but they should have a color to match the forage out their in So Cal.

You could try out the Lucky Craft Wake bait. I have yet to try one but my tournament partner used it all the time and did well.

Mann's -1, and the new Mann's baby Waker. They all go less then 1'.

Another vote for the Mann's Minus-1. I've caught several fish on it. Reel slower to make it wake the surface, or faster to get down to the 1 ft max depth. They have a good range of colors, too.

I believe the Bandit Footloose series dives less than 1 foot. I really like Bandits; they're pretty much indestructable, come in great colors, and they catch fish.

Other than that, the Mann's 1- and wake bait, the LC rick clunn wakebait, and XCalibur wakebait.

Mann's Waker dives three inches. It is so cool to be top water fishing with a crankbait.

I like Bandits too. Norman makes some too which run rather shallow.

I bought the Bass Pro Shops XPS Egg this year. It's a shallow crankbait that will work both as a wake bait or dives to 1 foot. It's got some weight too which makes it easy to throw even into a wind. It's available in 12 colors, and two sizes. I bought the 3/8 2" version in Texas Shad and it's worked for me this year.
