I would use a crankbait. If a rattle shad is what I think it is is a little to fast for muddy water. A spinner would also do the trick...........

I'd try a big black spinnerbait with a no. 5 Colorado blade on it, and a black and blue jig.

i fish a muddy pond a lot, and have very good luck with the mann's baby -1, in a brown crawdad, the brown blends in alot but the orangish bottom makes this a hot lure or muddy or stained water?

also in muddy water fish pull in real tight to cover. it is a good time to fish a full sized bush hawg around dock piles. the key is free fall all the way to the bottom bounce it a couple times and reel it in and repeat. very through fishing is the key 3-5 cast to the same dock suport..

And that make a lot of noise or put out a lot of vibration.
