Default Truck, trailer take plunge into creek

Don't forget to set the brake, better yet block the wheels!

Police went on a fishing expedition Monday morning to pull a truck and trailer out of the water at a Mastic Beach marina.
The mishap occurred in Pattersquash Creek on a ramp near Riviera Drive and Elm Road East at 9:25 a.m. There were no injuries, a Suffolk County police spokeswoman said.
John Hahn, who lives nearby, said he lost control of his 2003 Chevy Silverado and trailer as he tried to put his boat in the water at Marina One for a day of clamming.
A Suffolk County police marine unit retrieved the boat. Police divers went in to hook a cable to the Silverado, and a heavy-duty tow truck pulled the vehicle and trailer out of the water.
Police said the truck couldn't be salvaged.
