So I send Bryce a friend request at stoopid Facebook. They still make me enter the 2 words in the box so either I haven't verified somethin or they want a urine sample....anyways....and this is a true story.....the 2 words were Full and Mourner.

I'm hardly ever on it anymore. It's cool to keep up with old friends that live out of state or country. Saves on long distance, and you can show off photos of kids and stuff.

On a side note.....I think this is a fine example of the complete and utter waste of money that Michigan Government, maybe even federal government, is spending.
The freaking National Guard base is guarded by an independant security company!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you freakin kidding me? You train soldiers! You have them at your base for 1 weekend a month and 1 moth a year! You train these people to fight!
Yet they can't check IDs at the freakin gate???????

Yes, Mallen. We live in a day and age where the military must be protected, since we have hamstrung them with so much sensitivity, rules of engagement, "win the hearts and minds" PC CRAP.

It's all very odd to me, since I still picture the military as a pack of snarling pit bulls on a leash, just begging to be turned loose to chomp on some bad guys. Nowadays, we have them building hospitals in Iraq. Sheeesh. They should be filling hospitals in Iraq.

It's screwed up. I did 4 years in the Navy and guess who manned our gates? THE FREAKIN NAVY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I totally support our miltary, just as I have for over 20 years, but wow! Seriously? We gotta hire Paul Blart to man the gates?

I can half way see it with a national guard base. Not really, but they are sort of a weekend warior sort of thing. However, it's the same thing here at Ft. Bragg. You never see a MP at the gates, it's private security. The MP's are stopping cars on the highways that run through base and warning them about their speeding and lack of seat belt use.

I will say that Facebook has shown me signs of the apocolypse. My grand mother sent me a friend request (I accepted, but to filter what she sees).
My ex-wife felt like we could reconnect. That was a simple ignore for me.
