top 5 rapalas?
guys, for the lures im going to order, im trying to figure out which rapalas to get. im thinking shad rap, jointed shad, fat rap, X-rap and a DT. if you think there are more than 5 great rapalas or have different choices, please tell me.
note- i fish a small, clearwater pond |

You've got the ones I'd choose.

I'd get all five of them in the shad/blue back combo, get one that only goes about 1 foot under water, its bill has a 90 degree bend in it, I'd also get two #5's and two #7's mix up a few colors like charturse and white, crawdad, and shad...I've caught more fish on those sizes and colors than any other, plus they have been selling this lure for years.

that xrap will never beat a rogue IMO, the fat rap is ok, and the jointed rap never got me diddly, a few small ones

Get an original Jointed Rapala in size 11, I beleive or 9. These lures will kill them in clear water. I reccomend natural shad colors/minnows, and for smallies, firetiger and orange-ish colors.

Consider the Countdown; it's an excellent, underrated lure that will catch anything that swims.

JB, if you believe the Linders, they say the x-rap is the best thing to come around since frozen toast. Supposed to catch both lm and sm all year long in all conditions. I don't have any rogues yet but i am going to try a couple. I have had some sucess on the x-rap. What is a good color to start off with?
