Winter Sucks.
I am so itching to be fishing, but damn near everything but Erie is frozen up here. It rather sucks. I did manage to catch a few Steelhead this fall though.

Everything was frozen here a month and a half ago.......the long winter lull definitely sucks. Things won't defrost around here until mid to late april.

The winter definately sucks, until there is enough ice to fish.

I agree. Our ice was 3" last time we checked, but now, it's supposed to be 50 degrees today and it's rained last week.

I know what yall mean. All this ice in my glass is watering down my scotch. Making it hard for me to concentrate on all the bass in the 65 degree weather.

This is the worst weather. I woke up at 3:30 A.M. to rain and temps just above freezing. Not enough ice to walk on and not much snow left on the ground. I don't like being cooped up like this inside, but there is nothing to do outdoors in this weather. I wish I had the $$$ to come down south for a while.

Bender, It has been raining here all day as well.It really knocked the snow level down from what it was. I hope to get out and throw a few lures from shore tomorrow to try out new line and what have you. P N J

Well I'm going back over to Lake Guntersville tomorrow. Weather is supposed to be 54 and less than 5mph wind, water temps in the low 50s. Sure hope Mr. and Mrs. Bass are hungry!

I really hate all you southern folk right about now... But then again, our walleye fishing beats the hell out of yours.

HA! 33 is cold to you guys. It was 50 here two days ago, then yesterday, the 25-40 MPH winds dropped the temp to low 20's. Thw ind has died down significantly over night. it's only 10-15 mph now. But yesterday, it was so windy there were waves on the ice!!

Merry Christmas to all, From north Georgia, where we are finally geting some much needed rain! It was 55 yesterday and beautiful partly cloudy and a light breeze. We fished Guntersville over in Alabama with considerable cooperation out of the LMB (and one huge drum/gaspergoo!). We woke to sleet and cold rain this morning with the radar showing a bunch more rain streaming in and lots more in the forecast all the way up to New Year's Eve.

I don't envy you WSA....and I appreciate you making our Michigan weather seem tropical by comparison. To echo the thread title.....winter DOES suck!!!I have resorted to playing a Bass fishing game I downloaded to puter. Pretty sad,...48 years old and playing a game on the puter to satisfy my "jones" <sigh> Oh well,.....my wife hopes that I may grow up some day...not likely though.

Bob, G'ville is a big fish lake in every respect. Big largemouth, big drum, big carp, big gar, big catfish, big crappie, big bream...even when they rarely are caught big smallmouth. It just produces big fish.

The Jr. Hogs got a Wii with a fishing game from Santa, that's how we pass the time here in CNY....
