What's in the bag?
As I was reading through a few threads I was noticing that all of us have some sort of tools or other item(s) that we carry with us when ever we go out. I know we all take what we consider to be enough bait and terminal tackle. Just curious what you always take with you other than the fish catching items themselves.
For me all of this will fit into a pocket of my main bag. Since I don't have a real boat and do a lot of shore fishing I need this stuff to be as mobile as I am. I have an 8" surgical clamp with a cutting edge for deep hook removal. A small can of compressed air I use to blow water out places I don't want it. I also use it to blow out the reel after fishing the heavy algae water. 3 foot of CAT-5 cable that I will use to make hook guards or to slip into a plastic to alow me to shape it. (great on flukes to force a more sporatic action) Battery operated soldering gun to melt plastics quickly. L arge sewing needle that I use to thread line through a 10 or 12 inch plastics for a trailer. A collection of sharpies that I can use to quickly cover up chipped paint. Disposable camera just in case I hook that monster and didn't bring my regular one.

I have a little columbia tool almost like a swiss army knife. It has sharpener, sisors, knife, precision screwdriver, can opener , and a light on it. Other than that we allways keep a good pair of siscors , and try to remember the camera.

I so need to save this thread since it has so many items that I would never have thought of. I simply have some hook removal clamps, some finishing nails to insert into flukes and worms, a camera, some nail clippers, and some scissors.

My boat is my bag! When I fish with someone else I just hope they are as prepared as I am. I am fishing a near home tournament I carry needle nose pliers and cutters, and a LED Headlamp when I fish out of someone else's boat. Short version, I hate having to carry a "bag" and would rather fish out of my boat because I will have most any situation pretty much covered.
