Default Scum Frog

well i went and bought 1 of these for the first time the other day..but ever since i caught my first bass on it , it seems as if the body of the frog is not as snug as it was before. meaning, after every cast i have to re-position the the body so the hooks stay weedless.
it gets a little cockeyed then im getting snagged, this wasnt happening b4 i caught the bass.

he did beat the hell out of that thing though. the body was almost completely flipped inside out about 6 inches up the line completely off of the hook shank

Did you catch a bass on steroids? Sheesh, sounds like he tore at that frog with an attitude. I've never used the scum frog. Maybe try another brand. My Spro frog and Bobbys Perfect Frog have held up very well.

The body of mine moves around too. I just added a little foam to the inside and it helped keep it stationary.

Never had that problem. Although I rarely use frogs, all I use is Spro.

BB

P.S. Wait, what kind of foam?

second the spro and add the r2s frog maybe a little better hook up
try using gorilla glue its a urethane glue which the primary ingredient in spray foam when it dries it resemble a small dab of foam which will hold it in place and aid in the float

Here's my suggestion. Goto homedepot or lowes and get the crack sealer.
Its in a red can I believe, you use it to seal the area around pipes or cracks. Anyhow I wet the application tube and insert it into the frog.
I spray just a tad, as it will swell inside the frog. I try to spray as close to the nose of the frog as possible. Once the foam froms it sorta makes a seal around the hook. It keeps the head up and has great bouyantcy.
Too much and your frog will be solid but wait until it dries and you can pull some out.

I adjust the body if it needs it. The problem with adding anything to the inside of the body is that you run the risk of the body not collapsing and decreasing the hookset ratio even further.

sorry bigJim I wasent clear I mean a dab of gorilla glue at the point the hooks exit the frog it dose not interfere with the hook set culln5 is right hooks sets are hard enough with frogs this may not be permanent and you my have to from time to time redo it

arg pink got me again lol from green

cool, i have some of that gorilla glue stuff ill give it a shot... as far as the other frog i went and purchased, that thing must look way too real. I havent caught on bass on it yet, too busy trying to keep it from the real frogs from chasing it down and tryin to hump it! LOL
happened at 2 different ponds. 1 spot on the pond i actually had to move and go somewhere else, the frogs were relentless trying to get to it.. 1 of them actually jumped on the back of mine but i was able to shake em off with out the hooks jabbing him in the guts

Might have been some real fireworks, if you can get real frogs to chase your bait into open water: can just imagine the explosions as any bass in the neighborhood hear the dinner bell!

I've experienced that problem with the Bobby's Perfect and the Spro but only after fighting a bass or occasionally, hanging up on a lily pad.
Once I straightened it out though, it worked fine until another bass, or lily pad.
