Default Best way to find area tournaments?

Just getting into my first couple of years taking fishing seriously. Have been looking at several forums but there doesnt really seem to be any central areas to find tournaments. Im from Missouri and I know there is a lot to cover. Any ideas? How do you find out about whats going on in your state?

Local Forum, local clubs, local tackle shops (not like BPS, but mom and pop ones).

And google would be a good way to find the first two of those.

The State of Kentucky Fish and Wildlife website has a listing of all registered tournaments in the state and it is broken down by lake. I am not sure if Missouri has something similar but it is worth checking into.
