My Son's Citation
Well, we went to our home lake & started searching for bait with the H-Bird 798SI( I luv this thing) We find several pods of bait & fish & Cole starts whacking them again on the silver buddy...The wind is howling 20-30 with 40 MPH gusts... but he's happy as a hog in slop esp. when he hooks this:
He tells me oh I feel like I have a log... no wait there is a mouth & a head .. get the net... He ends up with this beuaty 6# 23" bass( citations in VA must EITHER be 8# or 22") If this had been in April she would probably have gone 8...I'm so thrilled for him... it was great to see his face lite up when this pig came to the surface.... he ended up with 10 bass 9 came off the silver buddy & a nice 2lbdr on a jerkbait... I had 5.

Congrats to your son Sam! Maybe a future forum member. But getting a fish like that will definitely keep him on the water. I know you are a proud poppa too, so congrats to you too.

Thats an awsome photo of your son and what a smile! He's obviously enjoying his time on the water. Congrats to both of you! Thats a beautiful bass my friend. Got a ? I've heard you mention a lure called the Silver Buddy. Is that a nick name? I never heard of that before.

Mark is right, Sam....forget the citation...you made a memory with your boy that can never be taken away. 50 years from now, he'll probably be showing his grandkids that photo of the bass he caught with his Dad.
Awesome.

That is sooo cool whatching your son grab one. My son and i just recently started fishing from a boat together. He is 12 now, when he was 6, we were at a friends house in Virginia Beach. He had a twist in his line. So I threw a whole nightcrawler on my hook and bobber, and told him to throw it out. Well a few second later the drag was whining. He pulled in a fat daddy that was about 7 lbs. He was so young he really didnt want to lip it, so I picked it up and he took a pic of me with that hawg. He was afraid to put his fingers in the fish's mouth. I have never caught a bass over 2 lbs. i just throw a line out there and hopefully get something that wants to bite, no matter what it is.
Congrats to you and your son, those are memories that you will never forget!!!! Good luck on 3 trips in a row. |
