First 3 largemouth of the year (pics)
So i got skunked at the river today, Going for small mouth. so i decided to head out to a local pond, not expecting much, weather was kinda crummy, cold, windy, but the sun was still out, to my surprise i caught 3 Nice size large mouth.
(Remember these fish are from Illinois, NOT down south) ALL 3 were caught and released All 3 of them side by side, with length on biggest one. I guess this little guy was really hungry

well i just didn't want people to think i was going to come in here with pictures of fish that looked like i pulled em out of clear lake, lol
I put those pictures of the baits in there, so people know what i'm using this time of year, id have too say all 3 of those baits are early spring lures, these fish are NOT on the beds yet, but were staging just about 4-6 ft of water, And i think were targeting and eating bluegills (not sure), maybe small shad. I missed another one on the spinner bait, cause i didn't have a stinger hook on my bait, (stupid me) But i was using my spinning reel, with my pfleuger reel, and when that fish hit on the jig, i think my St. croix did a double bend in the tip Ill get more next week, now that i know what lake to go to, its more a Pond, connected to another pond, and i caught all 3 of those fish next too, or on the sides of a large stormdrain/Culvert, wich connected the 2 lakes together under the street.
