they are such agressive feeders..they will hit something almost as big as them. i went to a pond there was a dead sunnie..the other sunnies were peckin at it and stuff..you think they are bad, white perch are even worse.

hey zook, i have to disagree, when targeting white perch they can be fun, for instance in a local res. the white perch and small rock bass have pretty much taken over... but throw out a trout/panfish (redworm) off the bottom with an Ultralight rod/reel with 2 lb test and they can fight very hard on the way in... most of them are between 8 and 15 inches and yes i am sure they are not white bass...

Instead of 2 lb mono, I do all my panfishing on 6lb flouro, but alot of local crappie anglers use 8lb braid in water that isnt gin clear.

2 pound? i'd never feel comfortable fishing with line i can snap without an effort. I'm sure a hookset must be able to snap it.

If you try bass fishing with four pound test it will really teach you how to play the fish.

we use sassy shad jigs for striper trolling catch 1-2 pound white perch and white bass on them.. they trip the down riggeds you feel nothing while reeling them in. ya have to pause to see if there even there.. this one hit like a truck and i yanked him in no fight on a 7 foot medium rod.. zooker
