Problem is I can manage to stuff a lot more than tweleve baits in a box. I've got one plano 3700 that has nearly 100 cranks in it alone.
yes They are all small cranks. Can you give more speacific parameters about the situation/conditions. Is the lake a resivoir or natural. what is the water temprature and has it been rising or falling. What is the water clarity. I don't mean is it clear, stained, or muddy, I mean how far down can you see a white spinner bait in the sunlight. What are the primary forages in the lake, crappie? shad? bluegill? shiners? what is the bottom make up in general, rocky, muddy, is there vegetation and is it primarily emergent or submergent. is there standing timber or is it primarily rocky, no vegetation. no standing timber, but plenty of boat docks. There are a lot of things I need to know before I can just pack one box and go fishing and expect to catch anything.

Is 3700 the standard size?
An assortment of Gammy hooks, also some split shot and bullet sinkers. Bag of watermelonseed flukes stuffed in. 2 AC Shiner balsa jerkbaits. 2 PJs Jigs, 2 Brown hair jigs, 2 larger fliipping jigs, 1 thing of zoom chunks. 1 pack of Edge Speedfalls (senko ripoff available at Walmart). 2 Hank Parker white spinnerbaits, gold colorado blades with stinger hooks. 1 Pack of 11 inch Yum worms, red shad. Another pack of Gambler worms, 6 inch, Red Shad. For the sake of thrift I'll limit it to that, but as someone else said I could probably stuff more in there.

Lizzy and Zook
I am with you guys just read the rest.LMAO People around her have called me the "FLOATING SUPER BASS STORE" If I keep this up gonna have to buy a 32' cigarette boat and take the cap off and put casting decks in. Now how many 300ProMax engines do I need to power the fastest bass rig on the pond??? I figure 3 will do.

I've got two bags that hold 9 3700's each. Then I have another 10 or 15 3700's that are crammed full of tackle. The time of year it is determines what goes in the bags. A couple of years ago I decided I'm not lugging all that crap around. I bought an 1152 box and use that. Has helped me catch a lot more fish taking a lot less tackle and I don't seem to have a problem with not having the right baits. Again I just load that 1152 with the seasonal period baits for the conditions I'm going into. It has been working out quite well. If I were fishing tournaments, I would be taking both bags with me but not in the boat. That way I can adjust based on the pre-fishing or how things went on day 1. It's funny though cause I got this one little box and 7 or 8 rods loading in the boat. My buddy gives me a hard time about that.

Any of you guys sort the lures by color or depth?
Like a tray full of crankbaits for instance, do you keep depths together and styles? Thats pretty much the way I do it, I keep the shallow divers in the front and deep divers in the back, and the middle trays are fulls of ratLtrap type lures, some are homemade balsa versions for finesse river fishing.. |

If it were an unknown body of water that I had no information about. I would have to bring the full arsenal.

ther is no way no how i would even think about approaching a body of water. with no info on it. there is a boat load and a half of web sites on any given body of water. i have a couple questions most locals can answer#1 what is the primary food source?#2 what type of lake is it natural or man made?#3 what is the currant water temp? these 3 questions will give a very good clues as to were to find fish, what type baits to use, what structure they are found around. how simple #1 basicly 2 types of food sources crawdadas and bait fish. slow moving lures such as a jig or a bush hog imitate crawdads. while spinnerbaits, crankbaits imitate bait fish.. #2 natural lakes are round bowl like lakes. with a few deep water fishing structure areas. man made lakes have a bus load of differant structure. every thing from creek channels, old road beds, stumps, fence rows, old stone hedge rows,ect.. water temp tells you where to find the fish at.summer70-80. bath water temps fish will be holding deeper than say during spawning temps 55-70.or spring/late fall temps 40-50 they will be on ledges close to either currant or food sources. zooker

I can fish with 1 3600 box. In it I would have a 1/2 jig, 1oz. jig.zoom super chunk jr trailer. 4" Als worms in smoke & motoroil. bamboo sticks in sweet potato color.A few hooks & weights for the plastics.I can remember tying on a lure only taking the one lure to the lake to until I learn to catch fish on it.You can make it as easy or as difficult as you want it to be.
