Weekly Lake Fork Fishing report
Well, the water temp is finally approaching that magic number that gets the males on the move. 56 to 57 degrees. There some females getting and early start. We had a good day today even with 25 miles and hour wind. Then the storm hit and MERCY the rain and wind. The lake may fill after this storm as we got a bunch of rain in a short period of time. The fish are on RED. Spinner baits and lipless crank baits. Work these baits slow and about three to eight feet of water. Today the fish were related to timber or stumps. If this weather will hold and the nights stay warm the full moon will be this weekend and this will start the spawn.
The crappie are starting their move back down lake toward the bridges. Small minnows and jigs are the best bait. Don’t forget that the fish have to be 10 inches now, and twenty five is the limit. I still have some dates left in so if you want to book a trip call. Jim Reaneau 1-888-918-5088 |
