fishing in march
hey guys. as most of you know, i went to india in december, and my uncle got married. well, his wife is coming in march. since she didnt see me cach anything in india, she thought america would be junky and boring, if this was the extent of the technology. i promised to show her some real bassin. unfortunately, she has seen people catching tilapia like a snap in india, so sunny fishing wuoldnt create much amazement. i neeed some lunkers. so what would be the best methods to use in a small 5 acre or so pond with relatively low ammounts of weeds? (i dont know anything about the bottom structure). if any of you can tell me how, ill find out whats at the bottom. anyways, just overall tips. i really need atleast one bass. thanks guys

First off dont ever associate America with junky or boring! This is your country dont bash it! Be true to the Red, White, and Blue. You also seem to talk down on America, "if this is the extent of technology" Sure is a bit better than over there. If you think I am overly-patriotic, you are wrong, no such thing as overly patriotic.

Try a wacky rig senko, should produce or a rooster tail spinner, will catch lots of fish

Watermelon Red Flake and Baby bass, size 6 Eagle Claw octopus hooks, it is a circle hook. 10 lb line, M or MH rod. Cast it out, let it sit, and hope a fish hits

march in jeresy is the moth of prespawn. April, mid month is when they really get on beds, and you can really catch them. I honestly like the month of march, more of a challenge, and the biggger ones are generally the hungriest, do to metabolism and they are also first to spawn.

bass season is closed from april15th till june15th.strictly catch and release.unlike our northern neighbors we are allowed to fish for them but technically you can't even hold them to take a pic.although we do have quite a few paper tourneys. .....ponds warm up faster than lakes..i fish mostly lakes.
stinkybait,i wouldn't count on catching more than a couple bass if i were you.

The clearest water I fish is Lake Michigan. It takes a whole lot longer to warm up since it's so huge. So I get to fish the three spring bass modes twice! I've seen huge bass win over the best spawning areas and smaller ones wait their turn to use it. Awesome National Geographic type stuff to witness. I saw this little male battling four huge carp trying to protect the nest. It was a two and a half hour engagement. I tried snagging the carp but just kept breaking the 6 lb. line and losing trebles. The little guy finally lost and retreated but I think the carp were impressed with his valiance. They seemed to say as much as they were feasting on the eggs.
