Default Pre-order Strike King 10XD's at TW

This is a 6", 2oz crankbait that reaches "25ft plus!" It looks like it's going to retail for $14.99. That's pricey for a SK crankbait but probably worth it if it will hit depths unreachable with other baits. I'm guessing these things will fly off the shelves.

Since we're pre-ordering things, sub 5oz reel anyone? Pre-order your Revo MGXtreme from the Hook Up Tackle.

Don't think I'll be buying either. Don't think I live on a lake where the huge crankbait would produce well.

Love Abu and actually somehow missed this real, but not at that price point. And I think the MGX almost feels like a toy, maybe because its so light/not metal. Thanks for the heads up though

I can only imagine how fast the innovations/breakthroughs would come if fishing tackle companys could get the same return on their research and development dollar as let's say the cell phone industry. 2 oz reels 1 oz rods or less? Micro thin line that was truelly invisible yet absolutely unbreakable? Programmable hardbaits coated with smartdust that could be set to juke right or left on command. Soft plastics that would squirm/wiggle/shake when wet (imagine deadsticking a senko that would just sit on the bottom having a mild to severe seizure!). How about a jig with a high res camera smaller than the head of a pin sending real time pics to a screen in your sunglasses. And on and on and on...... All of that stuff is entirely possible or could be if they were motivated enough.

Damn that's a big crank. It will have to be thrown on a small swimbait rod with a 3:1 gear ratio reel!

I definitely don't think it's technology limiting fishing equipment. I think it's the demand for such equipment. Such huge leaps in technology come with a big price tag. And because we spend all our time on forum(s) full of tackle junkies, it's easy to forget we are the vast minority of fishermen. A very small niche market for tackle companies; and one that's likely not worth putting that kind of money into R&D.
