Default fishing line

Hi Guys, I was wondering what fishing line you guys use for fishing heavy cover? I will mostley have a jig w/trailor on there.I want a line that can with stand thick brush and timber and if i'm trying to muscle a bass out of the wood.Do they make a low-vis line that's really tough and very senitive?.The rod I'm gonna use is a rod my buddy gave me.He didn't like it cause it was over 6ft.It's 6 1/2 ft.When I looked down to take it from him i noticed in the slot where the reel goes it said G-loomis,I was FREAKIN shocked....I didn't say a word...I justed thanked him about 5 times.
Thanks Denny

Well I dont know how much line visibility will matter, but for heavy cover its all about braid, particularly Powerpro. Very sensitive and wont break, line diameter is great, i think its something like 30lb Powerpro has the same line diameter as 6lb mono. Anyways use it and you wont be dissapointed.

Denny just think, heavy cover, means the bass aint looking at your line(not that I think they ever do). Ask JB about Powerpro, and see what he says. Just bring your pliers to bend those hooks back curved as you pull them straight rotfl.

I used 50 lb. last year and 65 this year, PowerPro of course. The only problem I have had with it is when you NEED to break it off, you are probably out of luck.

Thats why you just cut it... But i've never needed to, once you end up pulling the boat to the area where you are snagged, ahah, it usually does one of three things: comes undone, bends the hook straight, or pulls whaetver its hung up on out of the water. Its great stuff.

I hear you on that 02. I sent a frog across the river the other night and snagged it up on some branches. one or two HARD yanks on the line was enough to send a big branch hurling at me from across the river. Superline hooks and 70 Lb. braid rule for snags.

power pro has helped me uproot trees and pull bicycles off the lake bottom. I even use it as a ski rope at times.

it ain't funny when you're hooked up with a gator pulling you around the lake while you're trying to get your bronzeye frog back. and that was with 20 lbs test. He pulled me and my 9ft boat around for 45 minutes before he came unbuttoned.

Just make sure to put some mono on the spool first as a backing, I have heard of braid slipping on the spool otherwise. Also, you use less of the expensive stuff. I found a double uni knot to be the easiest to tie for this and it hasn't failed me yet.
