Default To my northern brethren...?

I ran into some guys from Wisconson who are working on our new Gander Mountain. They asked me to go walleye fishing with them next weekend. I know this is a bass fishing site, but does anyone fish for walleye? Any quick tips or websites you'd recommend? We can't use aquatic bait at the fishery we're going to.

Thanks,

Pig

we fish for walleye in early spring with jig tipped with a minnow.
then later in summer a worm harness with a spinner and also crankbaits on planer boards. Fall we get them on jerkbaits, welll summer and spring too lol

The walleye in our lakes will take either a plain jig tipped with a minnow, or a crankbait. A large jerkbait like a Rattlin Rouge works well after dark.

Try trolling longer baits like the Reef Runners. I haven't fished for eye's for real in a long time. We did however drift Night Crawlers a couple time this summer in Hudson when the Musky's ignored us.

Good luck with walleyes on Hudson! I've only caught one on accident while bass fishing. They're just tough to figure out on that lake!

yeah they are. I would much rather spend my time huntin' down the fish of 10,000 casts though. I'm realy hoping we catch one this year.

Piggy2,
You should have stayed a little longer, I had a couple walleye guys come by the booth looking for baits. I've caught two walleye in my lifetime and both by accident (one on Anna and one on Gaston).

Have fun and keep the oil hot. Sounds like you'll have a nice fish fry.
