Wally you're going to get mixed opinions on bps stuff. Personally I've always felt it was better to spend a couple of dollars more and get the primo. Exception: I do a lot of deep carolina rigging hard baits and lose 6-8-10 plugs or more a year in the process so I will use xps plugs for that application. BPS does have decent soft plastics and I use some of their spinnerbaits.

I use their XPS series cranks for fun fishing and maybe a tourny once or twice a year and never had a problem with them, and same number of caught fish. So save a few bucks and give them a try.

The only BPS cranks that I use are the Pop R's. I do replace the hooks as soon as I get them.

The soft baits are ok but I do not care for their hard baits. I bought a few to try and had to spend way to much time tuning and didn't like the way they ran so no more for me. That was a few years ago so they may be better now but I will never know.

I like the XPS Nitro Floating Minnows a lot. They're the only BPS baits I throw often enough to give a solid recommendation.

I use some of their soft plastic tubes and like them pretty well, especially avocado for clear lakes like up around Mallen. I haven't tried many of their other lures.

I'm planning to buy one of these today at our BPS.

ONE???????????????? Nobody buys ONE. You need a backup, just in case you hang it up and loose it. You need more than ONE color. Definitely need more than ONE size. ONE? No way possible. Baitmonkey's words, not mine.

LMAO I like your way of thinking. Actually, the "one" I bought, I chose because it is so similar to the old Excaliber jerkbait that I use all the time with great success, which incidentally I found snagged to a submerged log. haha

Which color did you get?
On a side note, they're pretty much always 25% off during the Classic

I got the 5" chrome/black back. Thats the color of the old Excaliber that works so well for me.
