I rarely use either, if I am getting the short strike, I usally trim the skirt a little, I also try changing the speed, a little slower, a little faster. Alot of times for me I just down size the bait, and that fixes the problem.

I always use a trailer hook on spinnerbait even in the thick stuff, rarely get hungup. I catch about 15% on the trailer hook, ussually they are eatin' the bait though. Never on a buzz bait. The main ones I use have an extra long shank hook eliminating the need for one.

Mister Twister Grubs are available in a selection of colors and sizes in the new spring catalog from Cabelas, including the yellow as mentioned above.
