New jigs

Has anyone tryed of the bass grabber jigs or jig x are they worth the money. I own the evolution jig and so far its action is great and second cast cought a 3 pounder on it.Just wondering looking to buy new products at the richmond va tackle show.

I hope you find a better price on the grabber jig. Somewhere I was reading about Charlie Ingram designing the jig. The double point frog hook molded in a jig. I am not sure why one would need that, but none theless, another jig is always needed on the market.

The jig X has been around for a few years.Its proven to be a good jig.The price finally came down on them, makes them more attractive than they were.I personally haven't used either jig,I don't think I would like to thread braid through a hole in the jighead and then tie it off . http://verticallures.com/uploads/Pro...p?ProductID=19
It eliminates the use of a polamar knot. I like the polamar knot, but I would still lean towards the jig X , until the grabber comes down in price. P N J

If they have a All terrain jig booth there, I would highly recommend picking up a grassmaster jig, or two to try.I know they work. P N J

I'd like to try the Grabber jigs, they look awesome! They are a bit pricey though, aren't they...

So how do you add a trailer to the double hook set-up? Also looks like you have twice the opportunity to hang the bait up......and then spend $8.99 for another one when you have to break it off.

I also use grassmaster and have no problems getting them shipped to me in a timely manner.

Seeing your both from Minnesota.....I have been using them for a few years now.I actually did have difficulty the first time I ordered the grassmaster jig.They were so new, he didnt have them ready to sell yet. The bands on the skirts suck, but the head design is super.I usually change the skirts out often anyway. P N J

Were are you getting your bands from? Ive got a few different types but they seem pretty much the same.You nailed on the head design I havent found anthing better yet.Have you tried the football style out yet? I dont fish much rocks but this year all the places will have rocks!

All terrain is supposed to come out with a new jig its called the 50 thousand doller jig that they used to win a tourny on Rainy lake and take home 50G's. Thats the rumor!

I buy my skirts from Janns netcraft. I like the starflash and the hydro silk skirts.The starflash add alot of bulk and hydrosilk are what was on the jigs before the grassmaster that I used.I like them, actually I had no problem, except the price of the previous jig . P N J

I haven't tried the football head from them, but years ago I have used the Jim Moynaghs walker brand roll'r rock jig , which happens to be the same design as all terrains design. I bought a football head mold and poured my own. It's something I got away from, but there was a time when that was the majority of my arsenal. A Chompers spider grub on a football head.A 3/8 oz. or heavier works better for what I did with them. Cast them out lower your rod tip and drag it on bottom, until it snagged up. Keep tension on the snag and increase the tension until the football heads pops free.As soon as the footballhead pops free drop your rod tip and let it settle back to the bottom to snag up again and repeat the process. It imitates a crawfish scooting.I like a long rod to get the bait out there on the sparse weedy sandbars.Mono line is also what I used, it was about all they had back then. P N J

The Jig X are great. It does take a little getting use to with tying it behind the jig head, but it sure protects the knot and helps keep it weedless. I have brought them through places I would never have thought to bring them through.
