I've been looking for the same thing for my jonboat. I think I'm going to buy the Hummingbird 570. It's got a 5 inch screen, 2000 watts, dual beam transducer, 640V X 320H, and only costs $199.99. But I thhink pretty much everyone has it on sale now for $189.00. For a hundred dollars more, you can get the model 728 which is about the same thing but high def and GPS capable.

First we need a price range.... for some people, it is $100 or less, for others it is $200 or less....

Hey, that's not too far from the truth! The guy who won the BFL tournaments up on Burt/Mullett Lakes in Michigan the past couple years has been using something like a big orange traffic cone to see beds. This blocks out the light and lets you see way down into the water. I think most of his beds were 8-12'+. It must work since the past 2 years he's been doing it he has had over 27 pounds for five smallies each time.

That makes my heart glad considering I paid 180 something for a 565 just last year.
