If the motor runs at all, it's definitely worth 1600. That boat looks to be in great shape from the pictures. The one big thing to look for though on older boats is cracks underneath and especially the transom. A good friend of mine bought a used fiberglass one time that was waterlogged and just by looking at pics, you would have never noticed.

Looks like a solid boat for the money. At that price, when it came time to upgrade, you shouldn't lose money

its a 89 model, checked transom didnt find any cracks or soft spots, live well, bilge pump, and all lights work,,,took it out on water for test drive, started right up,no smoke, purred pretty good for a 93 motor, never really heard of nissan motor either, but it seems to be a good starter boat,,,now its in my driveway thanks for the info ohhh ended up paying 1400 instead of 1600

Looks like a good deal. The nissan motor might have scared a couple people away, but if its running its worth it. I think BPS used to sell Nissan motors. Never heard of any issues with reliability, its just not one of the major outboard brands. Chrysler also tried to make outboards, and I hear they were garbage. My major concern would be parts availability, but if I were you I might just run that motor until it dies and save up for a replacement all the while.
