Default Biggest Fish on the Year!

Got out in the rain and mist today, and just had a heck of a good time fishing! Fished for 2 hours from 1:30 to 3:30 and ended up with 41 bass, and every fish except one was over 12 inches. Half way through the day I caught my biggest Largemouth on the year... weighed 5 lbs. even. All fish were caught on my new KVD Tour Crankin Rod, and a Strike King 1XS in Chartreuse Sexy Shad...

Nice catch Ryan! Always fun to catch some fish (especially a big one) on new gear!

Nice catch Ryan! How do you like your KVD rod? I have both the 7'M and 7'MH and use them all the time and all day long.

I have been using the 7' MH for shallow, medium, and lipless baits and I love it... I am also throwing the King Shad, and Baby King Shad on it. I haven't tried it for using deep baits, but I think it will do okay. Have you tried throwing the big deep divers (DD22, 6, 6XD) with your MH? If the 7' MH is a bit underrated for big deep divers, I may step up to the 7'4 or the 7'10

Ryan

I use the MH for mainly DD22's. I have a Revo Winch on it. I use the M for mainly traps and shallow cranks.

Not bad!

I didn't get the weight of my biggest fish this year, but the biggest weighed was 3lbs 12oz, so you got me beat solidly.

I would say "Nice Fish!"

But wait a minute Ryan, 41 fish caught in two hours. After doing the math, that's one fish about every three minutes. Tell me this was a group effort.

Still a nice fish though.

Mark, I know it sounds like a bit much, but I have never had such fast action in my life. It was every cast for a while, and I was just in disbelief myself while catching these fish. I was reeling in fish after fish in disbelief... alot of the fish were 12 to 14 inchers, but they ain't too awful bad for northern fish.
