to be honest, never think most products of berkley are good ideas to buy. I hope it is only my opinion, however, it might be not!
I mean since you have so many choices, why berkley? Ask how many guys here are using fireline instead of PowerPro. How many guys here are using Gulp worm or Bat Wing Frog instead of Zoom Tricky Worm or honny toad.... IMO, Cajun Red cast is a better choice. Last edited by H2O; 06-27-06 at 01:53 AM. |

Well.... I used berkley line most of my life. Until the last 2 years or so, then I switched to PowerPro, only because i don't like mono anymore, and PP is the best line I have ever used.
And Yes, Big Game is a very good line. It makes a very good crankbait mono, and it was my first choice for many years, then it became hard to find so I used Trilene XT.That is, being mono, it's a good line. |

I use Big Game all the time for different things. I have 15lb spooled on a reel now that I use for T-Rigs and Jigs. Pretty tough stuff.

I only use it on my baitcaster. The one time I used it on my spinning reel, the line jumpped off the spool as soon as I opened the bail. The line was so knotted up that I couldnt use that rod that day...

Ok though, Just personal experience. However, if you could catch tons of fish on Berkley gulp or powerbaits, you definitely could catch 2 TONS OF FISH on Zooms' and Yums. |
