Default Airbrushing lures

Hey guys,

I started painting and creating my lures (mostly painting blank bodies) last year and I had a crappy (in my opinion) airbrush setup..it was a Testor's kit..all plastic, but was all I could afford and I didn't want to spend a lot since I was just starting..I recently upgraded to a pretty nice badger 350..60% off at my local AC Moore.. I have not used the badger yet, but my old gun was constantly clogging after about a min of spray time and it was difficult to get the consistency of the paint..most of the time it was too runny and wouldn't stay on the lure...Will I be better off with this new gun? And also, would I be best off to buy one of those air generating machines vs. the cans? Is it worth the extra dough?

I would think with a compressor you would get a more consistent flow. Just my opinion.

I used to build model cars and my paint jobs got much better when I bought a quality airbrush and a compresser. Main thing is keep it cleaned out good. Good luck.

definately use a compressor. Make sure your paint is thinned properly... I use e'tac, its perfect. definately keep it cleaned, that would mess your gun up

When switching to a compressor you will also need a water seperator. Water in paint is a BIG NO NO. Also is this air brush a 1 or 2 stage?

there was a big long thread recently that discussed all this, 66kingfisher is an experienced airbrush artist and really laid out what you need to do this http://www.bassfishin.com/bassfishin...ht=airbrushing
