Double oiling
I have a 1987 merc black max and it was suggested to double oil. It is oil injected. What does this entail?

Suggested by whom?
I remember looking through my Mercury owners manual for my oil injected 90hp OB and it recommended extry oiling in the first tank of gas for break-in. It specifically referenced how much oil to add to the gas (in addition to the oil injection). But that was just for break-in. I wouldn't think you would want or need to 'double oil' now as it should not be necessary or desired?

I double oiled mine once when I was miles from the ramp and my oil alarm went off. It turned out to be a bad sensor but, the boat ran fine that day...just smoked a little more.
I wouldnt do it regukarly..I would think you would be going through plugs pretty quickly |
