Here is a new South Florida Fishing Adventures record peacock bass caught by Paul Goubert at only 11 years old. We totaled 15 peacocks in a half-day up to this beautiful butterfly at 7 1/4 lbs. all caught on small live shiners. For more information on peacock bass fishing in South Florida click on these links at South Florida Fishing Adventures and Amazon Peacock Bass Fishing Florida.

No, peacocks are fishwater fish from the Amazon rivers in Brazil that have been stocked only in South Florida and mountain lakes of Hawaii because of their low tolerance to cold water. If the water temperature drops below 60 degrees they die off! They were put in the canals of South Florida to control over populations of aquarium fish dumped into these waterways by kids from years past. The co-exist nicely with the largemouth bass and have similar traits.
