what a blast!
one day last week i went to a local public lake that has just pretty well killed me over the years. i have caught some good fish out of it before but never good numbers. anyways i launched my boat at about 8:00 and by 9:30 i was culling! i found a channel that was just full of shad ( i figured to be dying off with the cooler weather ) and the bass were stacked up in there big time. i must have caught 30 bass in 3 hours, and had a five fish bag that weighed somewhere around 16 lbs. including a 5 lb. kicker. they were all released alive at the end of the day. i have never had this kind of success on this lake ever. i know that 30 bass in 3 hours and only 16 lbs may not sound too great to some of you but this lake has heavy pressure on it and a keeper is hard to come by and i must of had 10 or 15 keepers. plus i lost a good one at the boat that would have been around 6 lbs or so. it was so much fun!

Are you fishing on Bar-X Ranch? Or Columbia Lakes? I grew up in that area and fished in Columbia Lakes, Harris Reservoir, Brazoria Reservoir, and Buffalo Camp Bayou a lot as a kid when we weren't chasing trout and reds down by the river mouth and bays. All my family is still there between Houston and Lake Jackson/Clute/Brazoria/Jones Creek. |

mess of fish
this kinda explaines why we went through the Civil war...cause all you guys south of Maryland had better year round fishing than we did up north.!! I have to wait till March to get into those bites. Have a good holiday all.
