Default Success!!

So I took everybody's information into account yesterday when I launched my boat. I utilized my depth finder, I used my best judgement as to were the fish would be laying, and I matched my bait to the forage. About 7:15 PM last night I caught in total 13 bass in an 30 minute time ranging from LOL 10oz to a Wopping 5lb hog. About every third cast I was reeling them in. I followed the advice about riding the bank and fishing parallel instead of straight out and stayed just on the shaddy ledge and not the one the sun was beating on. The funny part was there was another boat right infront of use and he didn't even get a bite. I came right behind him and all he heard was the splashing and my load cheers for the entire 400' stretch of bank. Awkwardly enough I was using a chrome castmaster and a shad Storm Wildeye. I must have lost 4-5 due to miss hooking also. Check it out!! Thanks Guy's!

Here's a tip abou tthose cast master: the hooks on them suck. Replace them with a VMC Sure-Set treble hook. Or any other teble hook will work fine, its jsut the ones that come on them that suck.

If you fish a top money tournament in Central Texas and win it with a Kastmaster spoon in June, you will see a number of wannabe pros throwing thier rod and reels in the trashcan and selling thier boats! lol
The truth is that if simplicity works then by all means DO IT! Unfortunately folks who view themselves has high tech bassin' afficianados frown on simplicity and opt for the latest gadget on the market!

great job crank, show the setup you had. and i, like bob i think, would LOVE to see you win with a simple rig like that. which lure did you catch the hawg on? sometimes "old" is new again i think. it is something the bass today hasn't ever seen. maybe their great grand dad did, lmao.

Thaks Guy's. I couldn't have done it without everyones wisdom. I caught the Pig on the castmaster. My dad originally got it to stike on the wildeye but it threw the hook when it jump. About 10 minutes later we came back through and got him on the treble hook. To tell you the truth I found it kind of jicky that I cauth them on those lures. When I think of Bass fishing I think of spinners, cranks, top water, etc. I think of all this game planning, precision casting and choice of lures and you can cath them off of a lure as simple as this. It's like my friend one day. We went to a large pond and started fishing for the bass. I looked at the shaded areas, water clarity, etc and made my lure selection. He chose a little short haired grub and LOL applied another mini grub to the hook under it. He caught two fish out in the open pond and I was fishing structure in shaded areas with tactic. What the F***. That is when you want to quit.

I have this fishing atlas that I just bought... It has all the 2008 tournaments for all regions in Texas. I will try to find it, and if I find it, we could go fish it!

I think that would be awesome. Do you have aboat or do you want to us mine? I heard that it was supposed to be in October, September sometime. Its supposed to be 200 teams, bigest fish wins the truck adn boat and if you catch a bass weighing exactly 9.37lbs you will win 50K cash. The people who are hosting it is 93.7 KLBJ here in Austin. I cannot find it on there website like the guy said though.

way to go, crankitup!!!! Shhhh!!!!! Don't tell anyone about the awesomeness of spoons. Some bass anglers have too much pride to use them or inline spinners and both are always in my arsenal for when my 'bass' lures aren't working.

I sure would love to see them throw their gear in the garbage.
