Collapsed fuel line?
Anyone ever have their fuel line collapse within a foot of where it enters the motor and have the motor stall?
While fishing Sunday, we had this happen while we were cruising (about 4mph, lol)(hey, it's a no wake lake) and the motor just quit on us. Of course, it's not a very big (or heavily fished lake). And it was windy and fairly chilly. So the wind blew us to the shore (did I mention the trolling motor battery wasn't charged and was near dead). So we used our emergency paddle to pull ourselves to a dock. We tried to flag down the only other fishing boat on the lake, which was trolling for trout... None of the pleasure boaters were out yet since it's no wake until 11:00 am. anyways, we did everything we could, short of use a flare, to get their attention... anyways, a lady comes out of a cottage, and we talk to hey and she towed us back to the ramp with a pontoon boat. Anyways, once we got home, we could get a better look and it looks as if the fuel line collapsed where it makes a U turn before entering the motor. We un-collapsed it with pliers and tested it with the hose. it worked fine, but we're afraid of it collapsing again, if that was in fact what happened. I don't know if it's the cause, but the latch for motor cover hits the fuel line when you move it to the locked position. So, has anyone had a problem with a collapsed fuel line? could this be the problem? and suggestion to try and fix it and keep it from happening again? I'd take pics, but no camera. BB
