It could have been worse, It could have been a bass boat.
It looks as if everyone is ok, and if no one was hurt, I say 1 less lake lizard for us fishermen to have to put up with. Sorry, if that sounded cruel but me hates some ski boats in fishing season. |

How many of ya chain your boat down to your trailer? Well I didnt know about it until I noticed it on my boat and trailer, that the previous owner had installed a short chain that was bolted to the trailer just beneath the bow which was attached to my main tie down point(?) under the front of my boat and I was informed that this would keep the boat from sliding forward when having to make any sudden stops.
Although I doubt if it would of helped that guy in the picture out any. Last edited by woody; 01-08-09 at 03:09 PM. |

I guess it would all depend on the insurance. If only Bill Gates was driving a car that hit me and caused that...........

I second that motion. Most water skiiers have no consideration for fisherman.

My beef is with Jet Skis. I've had more than a few run ins with jet skiers. But they do have rights to the lake just like we do. Heck I'm not saying I always have perfect lake ediqete but I do try. I've seen some fishermen who are just as sorry as the dang jet skiers also. Back to topic at hand I chain my boat to my trailer. I wonder if the guy had the straps on the back. I've seen accidents pulling boats before that the thing never came off the trailer and one was a hum dinger although they didn't hit a light pole. bP |

When I first saw the pic I thought it was from someone getting carried away while powerloading their boat. Thats from a sudden stop? Is the trailer undersized?
Wow...

It does look like they skimped on the trailer, that figures its a Bayliner. I saw where they were being advertised for only $129 mo. for a 18' open bow.

A guy I know from high school had a beautiful 1969 Z-28 with a build 350 , he took it to a local drag strip , and on the way home the car ended up in the bed of the truck , I never knew how that happened.

that first boat picture is amazing , but a guy i know had the straps on the back of his bass boats but when he hit a car ot a deer or somethin (i cant remember) the boat went over the back of his truck and flew twenty feet up the highway. those straps are just there to make us feel good.
