Jig trailer preference, double tail grub?

I've been wondering about throwing a jig with a double tail grub like a Fat Albert from zoom. Never used them other then the first time I ever used a jig, and I didn't catch a thing. And that's why I think I've never used them in the past 3 years on a jig. Wondering if anyone prefers these over a chunk or craw. And when they would pick them over a chunk or craw.

I prefer to use a double tail twist grub when using a swim jig. Otherwise, I'm usually using a Paca Chunk or something similar. The Rage Chunks are great trailers too.

Ive been using sabertails,Zoom finesse worms (cut down) ,and beaver style baits...Along with paca craws...The sabertails are the best producer so far.
On swim jigs Im using a fluke...Great action,no takers yet.

I like the 4" Rage Craw. If you want a more compact profile just trim it down.

For deep water I use a twin tail grub. If it's anything else, I use either a Zoom Super Chunk, or a Powerbait Chigger Chunk.

I've used twin tail grubs when swimming jigs with moderate success. I'll also use single tail grubs on small jigs (such as the Strike King bitsy bug) when fishing for smallmouth or very early in spring/late in fall for largemouths.....this has put alot of fish in the boat the last two years.

Don't forget about paddle feet! The new Kalin's Scrub is an awesome jig trailer. Use a blue/chart marker on opposing legs and the look is killer.

I like flapping craws better than twin tail grubs for most things, but twin tails work better with football jigs because it responds better in short hops.

I use a double tail, or larger 5" single tail grub on swimjigs and the double tails on football jigs. Other than that, I use Chigger Craw (3 and 4") 90% of the time.

Twin tail and the Hula Grub when I want to bulk up the jig a little.

There are so many different styles of plastics out there that can be used as trailers it is impossible to fish a jig to it fullest capabilities and prefer just one trailer. Each style serves a purpose for a certain situation and all of them will shine at times and not be effective at other times.

Yes twin tailed grubs are a good trailer, I especially like them when I am dragging a football jig, or fishing in deeper water and want a lot of vibrations. A Baby Brush Hog is another great trailer that puts off some action too.

Super Chunks and Super Chunk Jr's are also great trailers when you don't need quite as much action, As are Beavers. Sabertails as mentioned above are another great trailer that will put off a little more action than a chunk but not quite as much as a Baby Brush Hog.

In addition to the ones I already mentioned I will also use Chigger Craws, Speed Craws, Critter Craws, Little Critter Craws, and a bunch of others that I am leaving out right now. On top of action and vibration, keep in mind that a trailer will also play a huge role in the fall rate of your jig too so that is one more thing to keep in mind when looking for the right trailer for the situation you are faced with.

Tough to beat when fishing a football head jig. I don't fish them on any other type of jig, but they sure work on a football head.

Cool, thank you guys, kevin them trailers looks pretty cool, I've useda ribbit frog in a pinch as trailer, caught a few fish...

I'll try them when I fish deep water, thanks for the info! I'll stick with craws when I use a shallow jig.

i have used both as a trailer. i have also used a WORM as a trailer. the tail off a lizzard, tail off of just about al soft plastic baits as a trailer, lol. whatever works man, whatever works.

I've seen quite a few people using beavers for jig trailers. I'm gonna have to give this one a try.
